Día de Acción de Gracias Coreano y Noticias! / Korean Thanksgiving Day and News!

Hace un par de días estaba hablando con Oppa, y habiéndole introducido yo en las fiestas de Tejina el mes pasado, me habló del Día de Acción de Gracias Coreano. Evidentemente cuando me dijo día de acción de gracias tuve una reacción un poco... <<WHAT? No se supone que eso es algo americano?>> Pues no señores, los coreanos también celebran acción de gracias, y lo llaman Chuseok.

A couple of days I was talking with Oppa, and after having introduced him at Tejina's festivities last month, he told me about the Korean Thanksgiving Day. Obviously when He said Thanksgiving Day I had a reaction a little ... << WHAT? Is not that supposed to be something American? >> Nope gentlemen, Koreans also celebrate thanksgiving, and it is call Chuseok.

Fue exactamente el día 8 de octubre, y aunque me hubiese gustado poder hacer la entrada antes, tuve y tengo que solucionar unos problemas con la matrícula de la universidad, pero mejor tarde que nunca.

It was exactly on the 8th of October, and although I would have liked to make the entry before, and I have had to solve some problems with college tuition, but better late than never.

El Chuseok es un gran festival de la cosecha y festividad que se extiende por 3 días en Corea, y se celebra el decimoquinto día del octavo mes del calendario lunar. los coreanos visitan a sus familiares y comparten una fiesta con alimentos tradicionales coreanos tales como songpyeon (pasteles de arroz) y vinos de arroz tales como sindoju y dongdongju. Y no, no comen pavo, me aseguré de preguntarlo xD.

Chuseok is a major harvest festival and festivity that runs for 3 days in Korea, and is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month. Koreans visit their relatives and share a feast with traditional Korean foods such as songpyeon (rice cakes) and rice wines such as sindoju and dongdongju. And no, they don't eat turkey, I made sure to ask it xD.

Y ahora vamos con las nuevas noticias, me parece que es hora de hacerle un lavado de cara al blog, en plan cambiarle el fondo, la plantilla y todo eso, pero sobre todo el título, que antes era evidente que escribía de año en año, pero ahora a pasado de ser "a veces" a ser "más a menudo", y no quiero ser tan cutre de poner "More often I write". Había pensado en un alguno como Haru's Madness o My life is a Drama, o algo por el estilo, haciendo referencia a las cosas que estoy escribiendo más ahora. Y a pesar de saber que esto parece más un blog unidireccional (bueno, no lo parece, lo es), quería consultaros, pediros consejo y sugerencias.

And now we go with the news, I think it's time to give a facelift to the blog, I plan to change the background, template and all, but especially the title, which before was evident I wrote from year to year, but now gone from "sometimes" to be "often", and I will not be so tacky to put "More Often I Write". I had thought at some as "Haru's Madness" or "My life is a Drama", or something like that, referring to the things I'm writing more now. And despite knowing that this seems more a unidirectional blog (well, doesn't seem, it is), I wanted to consult you, ask you for advice and suggestions.

Entrevistando! / Interviewing!

A estas alturas ya habréis notado que soy muuuuuy rara, y es verdad, para mi ya no es un insulto. Últimamente he estado empapando mi cerebro con lo que viene ha ser cultura coreana, y no hay mejor forma de hacerlo que hablar con los que más saben, los propios coreanos. Lo que más me fascina es su forma de ser y de pensar completamente distinta que me tiene enamorada. A veces pienso que debería de estudiar psicología, pero luego recuerdo que este año fue la carrera más solicitada y que todos o la gran mayoría van a ir al paro, y se me quita la bobería.

By now you may have noticed that I am veeeeeery rare, and it's true, for me it is not an insult. Lately I've been soaking my brain with Korean culture, and what better way to know than talk with expert people, the Koreans themselves. What fascinates me the most is his way of being and thinking that has me completely in love. Sometimes I think I should study psychology, but then I remember that this year was the most requested and that all or most will be unemployed, and I removed the nonsense.

Como prometí hace unos días, intentaría hacer una entrevista (evidentemente era sorpresa) antes de que se acabase el verano, y ya sé que estamos en septiempre, pero para mí el verano no se acaba hasta que empiece en la universidad, así que venga, empecemos.

As promised a few days ago, I was going to try to do an interview (it was obviously a surprise) before the summer is ended, and I know that we are in September, but for me the summer is not over until I start in college, so come, Let's go!

La primera entrevistada es mi Dongsaeng 동생, o lo que viene a ser lo mismo, mi hermana pequeña.

The first interviewee is my Dongsaeng 동생, or what amounts to the same thing, my little sister.

Yo: ¿Qué piensas sobre España?

Ella: Umm...¡Pasión, fútbol, rojo!

I: What do you think about Spain?

She: Umm... Passion, soccer, red!

Yo: ¿Sabes algo sobre España? Comida/Historia/Idioma/Tradiciones/Música/etc.

Ella: Umm... Paella, Jamón!! Comida  kkk (Doy por hecho que se refiere al Jamón serrano)

I: Do you know something about Spain? Food/History/Language/Taditions/Music/etc.

She: Umm... Paella, jamon!! Food  kkk  (I assume that she refers to the serrano ham)

Yo: ¿Qué piensas de la gente española?

Ella: Son divertidos y pasionales  *0*

I: What do you think about Spanish people?

She: They are fun and passionate  *0*

Yo: ¿Te gustaría visitar España? ¿Por qué?

Ella: ¡Sí! Porque quiero mostrar algunos festivales y España tiene hermosos edificios. ¡Y me gusta la pasión de la gente española!

I: Would you like to visit Spain? Why?

She: Yes! Because I want to show some fesrivals and Spain has beautiful buildings and I like spanish people's passion!!

The following interview is my Oppa 오빠 or older brother, enjoy it!

Yo:¿Qué piensas sobre España?
Él: ¡España es famosa por el fútbol! ¡Actualmente soy gran fan del fúbol, así que conocí España a través del fútbol! ¡Algún día realmente me encantaría visitarla! Para ver un partido de fútbol y participar en la fiesta del tomate, llamada la tomatina, ¿verdad? Y uno de mis amigos vive en España, así que ¡realmente lo espero!

I: What do you think about Spain?
He: It is famous for soccer! Actually, I'm really big fan of soccer! So I knew Spain through soccer! Someday I really wanna visit here! For watching soccer match and participate in tomato festivals, called La tomatina right? And one of my friends lives in Spain, so I really hope so!

Yo: ¿Sabes algo sobre España? Comida/Historia/Idioma/Tradiciones/Música/etc.
Él: Comida: chrrous (Creo que quiere decir churros xD), sangría
     Historia: He oído sobre el problema de Cataluña.
     Tradiciones: ¡Tipo combates de vacas! ¡Olé! (Corridas de toros)
     Música: Lo siento, no sé.

I: Do you know something about Spain? Food/History/Language/Taditions/Music/etc.
He: Food: chrrous (I think he means churros), sangria
      History: I heard about Catalunya Problem.
      Tradicional: kinds of cows fighting! Olleh! (Bullfights)
      Music: Sorry, I don't know.

Yo: ¿Qué piensas de la gente española?
Él: ¡He oído que la gente española es muy pasional! Y se ven muy caliente también XD

I: Whay do you think about Spanish people?
He: I hear that spanish people are passionate! And looks very hot too XD

Yo: ¿Te gustaría visitar España? ¿Por qué?
Él: ¡Seguro, es uno de mis sueños! Yo realmente quiero ver El Glasico (No sé si está bien escrito :)) ¡Y salir con una caliente chica española! Si puedo Lol (No sé de fútbol, así que ni idea de qué es el Glasico o como sea xD)

I: Would you like to visit Spain? Why?
He: Sure, It is one of my dreams! I really wanna watch El Glasico (I don´t know spell is right :)) and dating with hot spanish girl! If I can Lol (I don't know about football so I don't kno what El Glasico is xD)

Y esto es todo por hoy. Como conclusión tenemos que España es fútbol y pasión, y a decir verdad mucha pasión por el fútbol. Realmente me encanta saber la imagen que da España como país ante un gigante de la tecnología como es Corea del Sur (mi móvil es Samsung! ;) ) y sí, España es fútbol y pasión, pero también es mucho más, bueno, quizá no tanto, solo algo, como un sistema educativo de mierda, una juventud irrespetuosa y maleducada, y unos políticos que velan más por su propio bolsillo que por el país. Al menos la comida es buena y el tiempo agradable.
Lo siento si esto ofende a alguien, pero no me quedaba a gusto diciendo solo cosas positivas de España, y sobretodo con lo que estamos pasando en estos momentos. Más nos vale seguir dando esta imagen porque vivimos básicamente del turismo (por lo menos Canarias).

And that's all for today. In conclusion we have Spain is football and passion is football, and indeed a lot of passion for football. I really love to know the image giving Spain as a country before a technology giant such as South Korea (my mobile is Samsung;)) and yes, Spain is football and passion, but also much more, well, maybe not so, just something, as an educational system that sucks, disrespectful and impolitely youth and politicians who watch more for their pocket than their own country. At least the food is good and the weather enjoyable.
Sorry if this offends anyone, but I was not comfortable saying only positive things about Spain, and especially with what we're going through right now. We'd better keep giving this face because we live basically from tourism (at least Canarias Islands).
